We Love Nepal. We Love Honest Guides.
Roof Top Treks was started by trekkers who were tired of vague, commission-driven travel advice — the kind that recommends a lodge because there's an affiliate link, or describes a trail without ever having walked it.
We've trekked every route on this site — in different seasons, with different gear, in good weather and bad. We've paid the same permit fees you will, eaten in the same teahouses, crossed the same passes. When we write about altitude sickness, we're writing from experience.
We don't book tours. We don't get commissions from lodges. We don't have a gear sponsor. Roof Top Treks is entirely reader-supported — which means our only incentive is to give you information that actually helps you have a better trek.
Nepal changed us. The mountains, the culture, the kindness of people in villages at 4,000 metres — we wanted to make it easier for more people to experience it safely and with open eyes.

How We Do It
No Affiliate Bookings
We don't earn commissions from lodges, agencies, or gear brands. Every recommendation exists because it's genuinely useful, not because someone paid us.
Verified On the Ground
Every route we cover, we've trekked ourselves — in multiple seasons. Permit costs, teahouse quality, trail conditions: we update from personal experience.
Written by Trekkers
Not travel writers. Not SEO contractors. These guides are written by people who have stood at Thorong La in October wind and at Everest Base Camp at dawn.
The Routes We Cover
Every trek listed below has a full dedicated guide — itinerary, permits, costs, packing tips, and honest difficulty ratings.
